Steelers lose there 2nd final in what apart from the 3rd quarter was actually a close game to the league champions Lincoln Panthers.

Steelers top scorer's today, #12 Ioan Nickson with 11 points, #6 Ross Stafford on 10 points - Ross dropping 2 long shots for a total of 31 three pointers for the season in the Linc's League, #7 Rodney Campbell on 5 points

In a close competition for the Steelers top scorer of the season in the Linc's league, #6 Ross Stafford and #12 Ioan Nickson have both ended the year on 152 points with Ross dropping 31 three pointers. #22 Nana Jumah on 126 points and #23 Kris Michalski on 81 points

8/4/2008 - Senior- Champions Cup Semi Final

Steelers meet South Linc's Dragons in the Champions Cup Semi Final winning 66 points to 59 managing to work the win even though it was not one of there best performances. Steelers will now meet Lincoln Panthers in the final.

Steelers top scorer today #23 Kris Michalski on 19 points, #12 Ioan Nickson with 15 points for a seasons total of 141, #6 Ross Stafford on 12 points taking his total for the season to 142 points overtaking #12 Ioan Nickson by one point.

3/4/2008 - Linc's League Handicap Final - Steelers 73 v Grantham 86

Steelers reach the Handicap final against Grantham Outlaws.
Gantham start the game with a 25 point lead and in the 1st quarter Grantham managed to keep this advantage. The 2nd quarter, being the Steelers best period of the game saw them only 11 points adrift. Normally the 3rd quarter is the Steelers strongest but with good defensive work from Grantham Steelers were having to chase the game eventually losing the 3rd by 11 points which they were unable to recoup in the 4th.

Steelers top scorer tonight is #22 Nana Jumah on 23 points followed by #23 Kris Michalski on 19points, Kris was also awarded a much deserved most valuable player trophy from the match officials.

13/3/2008 - Lincoln Panthers 47 v Scunthorpe Steelers 61

Steelers play away at the Panthers in the Lincs's League Handicap competition. Panthers start the game giving Steelers a 5 point lead but after a close first quarter which ended 15 all the Steelers took control of the game. Panthers are a strong team and it will go down as one of the Steelers best wins of the season to date.

25/2/2008 - Scunthorpe Steelers 85 v Lincoln Lightning 64

Steelers meet Lightning in the Lincs League Handicap Tournament.
Lightning started the game with a handicap score of 20 against Steelers starting from zero. Steelers playing some of there best basketball of the season overcame the 20 point difference and went ahead 28 points to 27 in the first quarter, keeping the lead for the rest of the game.

20/1/2008 - Lincoln Lightning 63 v Scunthorpe Steelers 89

Steelers win there 7th Lincs League game of the season by winning both home and away matches against Lightning. Steelers lost the 1st and 3rd quarters but were dominant in the 2nd and 4th leaving Lightning with no chance of catching them in the 4th.

Top scorer once again for the Steelers was #12 Ioan Nickson with an impressive 33 points taking his score for the season in the lincs League to 102 points, #21 Jamie Goodwin followed with 18 points including one 3 point shot, #6 Ross Stafford on 14 points including 4 three point shots, #4 Robin hewson #5 Jason Milner and player coach #14 Ian Clark all on the score sheet with 8 points

13/1/2008 - Scunthorpe Steelers 61 v Grantham Outlaws 58

Another close game but another win for the Steelers against a strong Outlaw team. The 3rd quarter being the deciding 10 minutes as the Outlaws seemed to lose there way with the Steelers winning 16 points to 7.

10/12/2007 - Scunthorpe Steelers 71 v Newark Nets 57

A full squad was available for Steelers first game against the Nets in the Lincs League. The Nets are a strong physical team but the Steelers are getting better every game they play going into the holiday season. Steelers eventually winning by 14 points.

9/12/2007 - Scunthorpe Steelers 46 v South Lincs Dragons 48

Dragons get revenge over the Steelers,winning by 2 points after they lost at home by 2 points in very first game of the season.Another extremely close fought game with both teams on 46 points,with seconds to go Steelers #5 J Milner fouled #11 K Eve giving 2 free throws away which K Eve gladly converted winning the game for the Dragons.

9/12/2007 - Scunthorpe Steelers 69 v Lincoln Panthers 46

Steelers come out on top against one of the leagues strongest teams after losing the away game early in the season.The 3rd quarter was crucial with the Steelers scoring 20 points against Panthers 4 putting the Steelers 25 points ahead going into the 4th quarter.

11/11/2007 - Scunthorpe Steelers 92 v Lincoln Lightning 39

Steelers staged there first home game of the linc’s league today against Lincoln Lightning.
As appears to be the pattern this season Steelers started the game somewhat slowly but once into their rhythm they surged ahead in the 1st quarter 22 points to12, with all the starting 5 scoring. Once again #6 Ross Stafford finding his 3-point range.
The 2nd quarter saw the Steelers taking control of the game with 20 points to 9.
At the start of the 3rd quarter Steelers dominated the game with #9 Ioan Nickson for Steelers in full flow dunking the ball and #13 James Brough finding his 3 point range taking the Steelers to a 68 points to 27 lead.
A spirited 4th quarter from lightning couldn’t stop the Steelers from increasing there lead who eventually won 92 points to 39 with all the Steelers team on the score sheet.
